When Anima Domus was founded back in 1998, co-founders Marconi and Silvia Naziazeni put their minds together to name the company in a way that would truly reflect who we are and why we are.

For those who are not familiar with our company, Anima Domus is a South Florida-based, contemporary furniture store that represents over 60 Italian manufacturers, including Porada, Fiam, CLEI, Ozzio, Poltrona Frau, Cattelan Italia, Bonaldo, Arflex, among others. 

At the core of our company is the concept of making a home for each house/apartment that we furnish. Home is where the heart is. It is where our values are, and we value impeccable design, unwavering quality, unbeatable value, and most importantly: products that are responsibly made.

We are the only South Florida contemporary furniture store that is fully dedicated to the “Made in Italy”concept. With “Made in Italy” furniture you get the most unique and incredible designs that are durable, and manufactured in a way that respects living wages for our fellow humans and reduces our ecological footprint. Because at the end of the day, the earth is our home.

Though we sell only Italian made, our name is not in Italian, rather it is in Latin–the mother to all the romantic languages.

In order to understand the phrase “Anima Domus”, it is important to explain what each word means separately.

The British dictionary describes the word soul as “the essential part or fundamental nature of anything.” It is the core of our being and is more than our physical state.

Home is “the place in which one’s domestic affections are centered.” It is not just four walls that provides shelter, but rather, the place in which you grow your roots.

Together the phrase Anima Domus means the spirit of the home, the essence of your home. Anima Domus is not about the product that you buy, but rather, the stories and memories that can be built around it.
